The pouring rain that accompanied Miha and I to the
Matt Costa concert last nite was in no way a omen of what was to unfold before our eyes (and ears.)It seems to be a unanimous opinion that Matt Costa is extremely talented. I read many reviews before attending his set at the Majestic in Detroit last nite. All of the reviews had nothing but wonderful things to say about Matt. I have to mention that I wasn't to impressed with the c.d at first, but after seeing him perform last nite I am officially a fan. He sounds awesome live. AWESOME. One of the best live music performances I've ever see. No. The best live performance I've ever seen. He engages the audience. The lyrics are kind, gentle, fun(which isn't a bad thing in this case) and his performance was sincere to the lyrics. Miha even commented on his sincerity and talent having never listened to him before.
I was actually sad when it was over. I didn't realize this emotion at first, and then Miha looked at me and said
"Your SAD!!Are you
sad?? Oh, that's so cute....Are you in love???"
To which I replied,
" t'
No, I don't fall in love
that easy.
please."
Of course this was a total lie. How could I not fall in love with someone who can fill simple words with unspeakable meaning by their body language, expressions, and musical capabilities? How could I not fall in love with an artist so talented? Tell me, how could I not?!!
To further my state of euphoria we stopped and had Mango burgers. The cheesy, mushroomy, cole slaw laden heaven had eluded me for far to long. It felt almost sinful as we sat in the car slowly devouring our burgers, rain washing down over the car when it actually needed to wash the mango burger off of our faces! The rain could not damper my enjoyment of the evening, although it
has made today not so fun.(i actually caught a cold)
