happy new year.

It's not that I don't feel he got what he deserved. I just think it's disgusting when people celebrate someone's death. Death is death regardless of the circumstances.

I heard that the people who were doing the hanging were actually saying things to him like "you are going to hell" or "to hell with you", and he responded by saying that they were going to hell not him. Regardless of the fact that he deserved to be punished (I personally don't believe in capital punishment...I think that God should decide when someone's life ends, not us), I still think that when it happens, respect for the person dying should be given. This person will die and will cease to exist. What happens to us after death or what happens to this person once he/she dies, is not up to us and at that point in time, I assume that if you know you are dying, you need some quite time to think, to pray, to silently ask for forgiveness for wrong-doing, etc. That was not given to him. This execution was not done professionally nor was handled with sensitivity, and although some may believe he did not deserve that, for the deeds he has done during his life is what he will be judged for, not his death. At that point, there is nothing that can happen to him in this life that will undo any of it. Death is never justice. Revenge and suffering come close though....

It's really sad to know there are so many "religous" people who feel that his execution was held properly. It's quite disgusting to me.
I think you said it quite well Miha:)
